Fionnuala Corcoran (P.Th. PGDHE) is a senior tutor and coordinator of RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) at the Institute of Physical Therapy & Applied Science (IPTAS). Fionnuala has been teaching on the IPTAS programme since 2007 and completed a post graduate diploma in higher education in 2010. Since then Fionnuala has also been involved in assisting with the management and development of the IPTAS programme and college.
Fionnuala has been practising as a Physical Therapist in her own busy practice in Kilcock since 2006. She is enthusiastic about and has a special interest in promoting health and wellness in older adults. Fionnuala completed the B.Sc (hons) in Applied Health Science in 2015 and then went on to complete Postural Stability Training (Later Life Training). Both of these qualifications equipped her to further develop her practice with older adults.
She now runs falls prevention / postural stability classes for older adults and is instrumental in promoting other therapists to run these across the country. Fionnuala has a previous finance background as a chartered accountant working at senior management level in Investment banking. A keen cyclist and member of Donadea Wheelers cycling club, Fionnuala has always been interested in sport especially hockey and skiing, and all sports from a point of view of lifelong physical activity.
