Claire Kiernan

Claire (B.A., B.Sc., T.C.R.G.) has been a member of the teaching team at the Institute of Physical Therapy and Applied Science (IPTAS) since 2013, having graduated with the B.Sc in Applied Health Science and Diploma in Physical Therapy with distinction that year. In addition to her Physical Therapy qualifications, Claire previously graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2005 with a B.A. (hon) degree in Biochemistry.

In addition to acting as assistant supervisor at the Physical Therapy Intern Clinic for the last 4 years, Claire also tutors the second year Diagnosis and Practice module, alongside the third year Evidence Informed Practice module. She combines her academic teaching with her private physical therapy practice, where she treats a vast range of conditions from sports injuries to repetitive strain. As a member of An Comhdhail na Muinteoiri le Rinci Gaelacha, Claire (T.C.R.G.) has a keen interest in Irish dancing, having practiced the art since the tender age of 4. She has been teaching Irish dancing alongside her sister at the Pamela Kiernan Academy of Irish dance for the last 11 years. As a huge passion of hers, Claire regularly works with up and coming Irish dancers, both treating and helping to prevent dancing injuries.
