Anne is the co-founder and Programme Director at the Institute of Physical Therapy & Applied Science, established in 1990. Her passion is physical therapy education & training.
With a background in healthcare practice and education, Anne completed a Masters in Clinical Education at the University of New South Wales, Australia in 2007. At that time Anne and her teaching team received HETAC (now QQI) approval for their Quality Assurance & Enhancement Policies and Procedures and subsequently state validation of the Institute’s programmes at Bachelor of Science Degree Level 7 and 8.
In additional to programme development, Anne’s role within the college is in nurturing an educational environment that promotes high quality client care and learner professional development.
Anne is an active member of the Higher Education community in Ireland, having held a position on the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning from 2013 – 2015.
Anne is a member of Educational Developers of Ireland Network (EDIN), and is a Board member of the Higher Education College’s Association (HECA) and Chair of the HECA Teaching & Learning Committee. Anne has a special interest in staff development and is currently part of an expert group, tasked with piloting the Professional Development Framework for All who Teach in Higher Education.
